10月15日，著名小提琴演奏家陈怡老师和丹麦琴弦制作大师Mr.Erik Martens在南京外国语学校方山分校千人剧场举办了师生互动小提琴音乐盛会，为我校初中部和部分高中部同学带来了一场视听盛宴。
On October 15th, famous violinist Chen Yi and Danish string maker Mr.Erik Martens held a violin masterclass at the NFLSFC auditorium for middle school and some high school students. The event was an “audio-visual feast” for those in attendance.
据了解，陈怡老师从小研习各种弦乐器，尤其擅长小提琴演奏，她是第一位夺得“中国国际小提琴比赛”金牌的中国人，还是美国弦乐教师协会理事。她曾作为中美建交30周年的中国独奏家代表，前往美国八个城市巡演，还曾担任中国少年交响乐团和中国青年交响乐团的首席，和多家世界知名乐团合作演出。丹麦琴弦制作大师Mr.Erik Martens，有着17年的琴弦开发创造和经历，对于演奏者和琴弦的关系有着独特的见解。
Chen Yi has studied various string instruments since childhood, and is especially gifted at playing the violin. She is the first Chinese person to have won gold in the China International Violin Competition, and is also the director of the American String Teacher Association. She served as a representative of Chinese soloists for the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States, touring eight cities in the United States. She has also served as the leader of the China Youth Symphony Orchestra and has performed with many world-renowned orchestras. Danish string maker Mr. Erik Martens has 17 years of experience in the production and development of strings, which gives him a unique insight on the relationship between the instrumentalist and the strings.
活动中，陈怡老师的小提琴现场独奏让同学们大饱耳福，一曲终了，掌声经久不散。
Chen Yi’s violin solo provoked great emotion among the audience, and was met by a round of applause.
随后，我校多名学生分别上台演奏了《丰收渔歌》《我和我的祖国》等曲目，陈怡老师仔细聆听后，充分肯定了我校学生的演奏能力和水平，同时也对他们的音乐情感、练琴动作等方面进行了专业指导。整个过程幽默风趣，给人留下了深刻的印象。
Following on from Chen Yi’s solo performance, several students took to the stage to perform songs including “Harvesting Fish Song”, “My Motherland and I”. Chen Yi listened attentively and praised the students’ musical ability and performance. She then gave the students guidance on topics such as musical feeling and piano practice. The masterclass was both humorous and interesting, and left a deep impression on the students.
Mr.Erik Martens大师上台讲授了琴弦的秘密，为同学们明晰了演奏法、琴弦和小提琴演奏者之间的关系，加深了同学们对小提琴发展历史的了解，激发了同学们的学习热情。
Master Mr. Erik Martens took to the stage to give a talk about strings and string-making. He explained the links between the violinist, their musical technique and violin strings which helped to deepen the students’ understanding of the violin’s history, and inspired the students’ enthusiasm for learning.
“兴于诗，立于礼，成于乐。”音乐不仅可以提高学生发现美、欣赏美、创作美的能力，还可以促进学生道德情操、智力水平、身心素质的发展。南京外国语学校方山分校始终致力于培养“具有中国灵魂，世界胸怀的现代英才”，设计了特色音乐课程，在开设多种多样音乐选修课的基础上，还通过举办社团活动、音乐节等方式培养学生的艺术兴趣，发展学生的艺术专长，丰富学生的学习生活。
There is a saying that goes, “It is by the Odes that the mind is aroused. It is by the Rules of Propriety that the character is established. It is from Music that the finished is received”. Studying music has many benefits; not only can it improve students’ levels of artistic appreciation and enthusiasm to create art, but also it can promote students’ moral awareness, intelligence and be beneficial to their physical and mental well-being. A variety of music elective courses are offered; the school also organizes clubs and music festivals to develop students’ artistic interest, promote students’ artistic skills, and enrich students’ overall learning.
