11月19日,南京外国语学校方山分校语文教研组研讨活动在STEM+中心会议室举行。教研管理中心主任、语文教研组组长柳咏梅老师主持会议,全体语文教师参加活动。
On November 19th, the Chinese Department of NFLSFC held a workshop in the STEM+ center. All Chinese teachers attended the event, which was presided over by Liu Yongmei, director of the Teaching and Research Management Center and leader of the Chinese Department.
专业引领 共同成长
柳咏梅老师首先对近期余映潮老师来校指导的相关工作安排做了介绍。余老师是著名语文特级教师,全国中语会学术委员会副主任,被誉为“中青年语文教师课堂学艺术研究的领军人物”,此次莅临我校指导教学,有听课、评课,有上课、讲座,安排充实,干货满满。柳老师鼓励大家,借此良机,多向前辈请教学习,锤炼自身专业素养。
Firstly, Ms. Liu gave an outline of how Mr. Yu will be working with the school over the course of the coming weeks. Mr. Yu is a famous highly-qualified and talented Chinese teacher and deputy director of the National Academic Committee of the Chinese Language Association. He is renowned as a leader for teachers of all ages in the “art of teaching and teaching research”. He will visit our school to supervise and guide teaching; various other activities will also take place including open classes, lectures and lesson observation feedback sessions. Ms. Liu encouraged all teachers make good use of this excellent opportunity to learn from veteran teachers and to continue their professional development.
接着,柳老师就本次期中考试进行总结,她指出,分数是一方面,更多应从分数中反思教学的各项问题,做一些真切深入的分析,每位教师都应将学生成长、教师成长和学科教学成长、学校建设成长相互关联起来,清晰地定位并发挥自己的价值。
Ms. Liu gave an overview of the recent mid-term exam. In her talk, Ms. Liu pointed out that the results themselves are only one aspect of exams. Exam results provide teachers with the opportunity to reflect upon and conduct an in-depth analysis of issues in their teaching. Teachers should not focus solely on exam results, rather, they see that student growth, teachers’ professional development, improving the teaching of their subject and the overall development of the school are of equal importance, and must each be able to reach their full potential.
即将到来的赛课展课正是一个促进专业成长的良机,柳老师提醒并鼓励新教师们利用这样的活动,好好打磨课堂,争取有出色的表现。
The upcoming demonstration classes are a good opportunity to promote professional development. Ms. Liu reminded and encouraged new teachers to use the demonstration classes as chance to plan and deliver excellent lessons.
切磋琢磨 交流分享
活动的第二大板块是分享与交流近期的阅读、教学与思考。
The second part of the event involved teachers sharing their recent academic readings, teaching experiences and reflections.
首先发言的是国际高中部张涵老师,她围绕如何在语文教学中运用“知人论世”的方法做了发言。她推荐的论文是《例谈“知人论世”在高中语文古诗教学中的运用》。张老师结合文章和平时教学,谈及当前高中语文古诗教学实践中“知人论世”存在的误区,她表示,想要运用好此方法,需要熟悉教材,做好筛选,还要结合文本,精心设计,更要依据学情,恰当使用。
Ms. Zhang, an international high school teacher, spoke first on how to use the method of “understanding people and their backgrounds” in Chinese teaching. During her talk, Ms. Zhang recommended a paper entitled How to Apply the “Understanding People and Their Backgrounds” Method When Teaching Classical Poetry in High Schools, and talked how the paper’s findings can be integrated into teaching. She said that this method is often misunderstood and in order for it to be applied properly, teachers must be fully acquainted with their teaching materials. Teachers must also carefully choose and combine a range of source texts to plan lessons meticulously, ensuring they are in accordance with student needs.
科技高中部王珊珊老师主要就半学期以来文言文和现代文教学两部分内容进行分享。教学文言文易陷入枯燥沉闷的状态,如何让课堂既是生动活泼的,又是高效的,是值得教师思考的问题。王老师从预习作业、课堂活动和课后作业三个环节入手,活用演绎、设计、绘制、访谈等方法让学生学在其中,乐在其中。现代文教学方面,充分利用学生的预习本和对话栏,补充阅读材料作为对读文本,如结合老舍《我的母亲》学习《想北平》;结合刘亮程《寒风吹彻》学习《今生今世的证据》。除了阅读材料,亦可介绍影视文艺作品作为拓展。
Wang Shanshan, a teacher from the science high school, talked about her experiences teaching classical Chinese and modern literature since the beginning of the semester. When teaching classical Chinese, it is easy to fall into the trap of being dull and uninteresting, thus it is important to carefully consider how to make lessons engaging and effective. Looking at pre-study assignments, class activities and after-school assignments, Ms. Wang shared various methods to help students learn whilst also enjoying themselves. These methods included using a deductive approach, planning and designing, drafting and interviewing during class. When teaching modern literature, teachers should make full use of the students’ preview book and comments margin. Teachers should draw links between texts, and use different texts to support each other. Ms. Wang gave examples of how she had used Lao She’s My Mother to support the study of Reminiscence of Peking, and Liu Liangcheng’s Cold Wind Blowing for The Evidence Of Present Life. In addition to set texts, teachers can also use film and other literary works as an extension.
初中部鲁静老师结合《用好统编教材,简简单单教语文》一文进行了教学反思。她提到,课堂不能只是看起来热闹,更重要的是落在实处,让学生真正学进去、学明白。教师的提问要简洁,学生回答后应当给予明确的反馈。标准是什么?方法是什么?这些师生都要厘清。统编教材的内容丰富,编排细致严谨,教学中应充分利用,不可忽略任何一处。
Lu Jing, from junior high, gave her thoughts on her teaching, integrating her reflections on the article How to Make Good Use of Textbooks to Teach Chinese. Classes do not need to seem outwardly lively or exciting; it is more important for classes to be effective in terms of educational outcomes. Teachers’ questions should be concise, and feedback should be clear, with students being fully clarified on what is expected of them and how to complete tasks properly. Textbooks are rich in content, carefully designed according to a set and well-thought-out order, so teachers must be careful not to omit any of said content.
初中部韩姝雯老师推荐的文章是《语文课堂朗读教学的现状、成因及对策》。朗读教学曾一度被认为是“最为重要”的教学活动之一,而“有感情的朗读”作为朗读教学的基本要求和评估标准,一直以来都是朗读教学的重头戏。韩老师强调朗读的背后,实际上是对文章感情的把握和理解,在平时的朗读教学中,应基于准确、流利、停顿、速度、感情展开朗读教学评价。要根据学生的特点,在有限的课时里开展生动有效的朗读教学。
Han Shuwen, also from junior high, recommended an article entitled Reading Aloud: Current Circumstances, Origins and Solutions. Reading aloud was once considered to be one of the “most important” teaching activities. It has always been focused on “reading with emotion”, the basic requirement and evaluation criteria for reading aloud. Ms. Han emphasized that the focus of reading is to grasp and understand the feelings and ideas reflected in the article. Thus, when reading aloud, assessment should be based on accuracy, fluency, appropriate pauses, pace and emotion. Teachers should make their activities for reading aloud engaging and effective, in adherence with student needs and time limits.
除了交流教学叙事和分享推荐文章,大家还就语文教学多个方面的问题进行了热烈的讨论。如何更好地开发和利用教材的价值,如何将教学与应试很好地结合,如何对名著阅读进行指导,如何处理“一课一得”,如何指导学生通过运用课堂所学来提高语文能力……
In addition to sharing teaching cases and recommending articles, the teachers also had a heated discussion on various aspects of Chinese teaching. This included how to better develop and use textbooks, how to combine teaching with test-taking and how to guide students in the reading of important and famous literary works. Teachers also discussed how to deal with the phenomenon of each lesson bringing yet more content to teach and how to guide students in using what they have learned in class to improve their language skills.
青年教师们结合平时教学中的困惑和具体案例开展讨论,也分享了教学中的一些有效的做法。高中部老师分享的阅读常态记录、文言文教学的生动方法、师生共读名著计划等给初中部的老师们以很大启发。柳老师还结合初中教材中相关的具体内容,对如何训练自己解读文本的能力、如何利用文本价值、如何强化能力训练做了分享,为青年教师们指点迷津。
Young teachers talked about adversities they have faced in their teaching, giving specific examples. They also shared some effective practices to overcome challenges they have encountered. Senior high school teachers inspired teachers from junior high, sharing their reading records, engaging methods for teaching classical Chinese and teacher-student reading plans for key pieces of literature. Ms. Liu then advised the less experienced teachers on how to be comprehensive when covering content in the junior high school textbook. She also talked about how teachers can develop their skills, improve their analysis of texts, and how to use texts to their full potential.
这是本学期学校语文教研组的第二次全体教师研讨活动。两个多小时的交流和分享,收获满满,意犹未尽。老师们积极发言、讨论热烈,体现了语文教研组认真踏实的教学研究态度。大家纷纷表示,期待教研组今后多多开展研讨活动,助力大家提升业务素养,提高专业能力。
This is the second workshop of its kind, and provided NFLSFC’s Chinese teachers with an excellent opportunity to share and communicate with each other. The session lasted more than two hours, during which teachers partook in lively discussions, reflecting the serious and pragmatic attitude towards teaching and research of the Chinese Department. All attendees look forward to more workshops in the future to boost their skills and professional development.
