在这美好的时节，南京外国语学校方山分校初中学段的老师们和同学们收到了来自英语风采大赛组委会的喜讯：我校初中学段共有42名学生获奖，值得一提的是，七年级有8名同学在比赛中获得特等奖，八年级有7名同学获得特等奖。
Recently, word came that NFLSFC Junior High 42 students won prizes in English Talent Competition. What is worth mentioning was that 8 students of Grade 7 and 7 students of Grade 8 received a special prize.
从初赛的现场比赛到受疫情影响居家线上参加决赛，这群孩子克服种种困难，披荆斩棘，一路过关斩将，为进入决赛开辟了道路。一路走来，他们的知识获得了增长，经历得到了丰富，能力得到了锻炼。每位获奖学生都有自己高效的学习方法，下面让我们去看看他们平时是如何学习英语的吧！
The students had overcome many difficulties to succeed in the competition no matter in the live preliminary competition or in the online final. Taking part in the competition helped them to learn, broaden their horizons and develop their abilities. The students who had won prizes have their own efficient ways of learning English. Let's enjoy what they'd like to share with us.
七（1）班 邵俐玮：英语学习中的语法、拼写等理论知识的掌握只是基础，而口语表达则是一个较灵活，且容易被忽略的一门重要功课。练好口语同时也需要你建立一定的语感，这样才会使你表达时不至于出现太多语法错误。所以要练好口语，我认为“多读、多看、多练”才是王道。
I think the first step to learn English is to master grammar and spelling while spoken English is important but easy to be overlooked. It's important to have the sense of language to practice oral English; thus you will not make too many grammatical mistakes. Therefore, reading more, watching more and practicing more is the key to improve oral English.
七（5）班 吴百洋： 我总结了一些自己学习的经验来和大家分享一下。词汇学习是英语学习过程中最重要的一环。一定要多听，要多写，要多复习，以巩固之前的学习。口语能力也很重要，想练好口语，就要多练，比如和外教老师对话、听收音机等。
I want to share my learning experience with you. I think it's important to learn vocabulary well through listening, writing and reviewing frequently. We students should also attach importance to improving oral English by communicating with foreign teachers and listening to radios.
七（8）班 陈思越：学英语对我而言充满乐趣，英语单词就像甜丝丝的柠檬水，有巨大的吸引力。上幼儿园以后，我就开始跟着外教老师学英语，来到南外方山分校后我们每周也有外教课，课上我们和外教老师交谈，通过游戏的方式进行学习。在欢笑中长知识，何乐而不为呢？
It's fun to learn English. I think of English words as sweet lemonade which attracted me. I took English classes given by foreign teachers when I entered kindergarten. As a NFLSFC student, I also have classes given by foreign teachers every week. We students are happy to communicate with foreign teachers and to learn while having fun.
七（9）班 刘心怡：在进入南外方山学习以来，英语成绩得到很大的提高，总结起来有以下几个心得：
1、多展示。学习英语不能够害羞，要抓住一切机会使用英语去表达。我们学校对英语课程比较重视，课程形式丰富多彩，如英语课前演讲、各种比赛等，积极参加这些活动使我的口语得到了很好的锻炼。
2、多阅读。我们订了《二十一世纪学生英文报》，里面的内容丰富多彩，充满了知识性和趣味性。除此之外，父母还帮我购买了很多其他的英语读物，比如《培生英语分级阅读》等英文阅读材料。
3、多模仿。寒假期间老师推荐了一款叫“趣配音”的APP，每天坚持在上面打卡，先播放原声的英语音频和视频，然后自己模仿录音，通过这样的反复练习，可以纠正自己发音中的问题，是练习口语的好方法。
I have made great progress in English learning since I became a NFLSFC student. I attribute it to 3 aspects.
Firstly, we should take every opportunity to show ourselves in English rather than being shy away from speaking English. Our school places a great deal of importance on English classes, providing a platform for students to give daily report, and participate in varied activities, which helped to develop my oral English.
Secondly, we have subscribed to 21st Century Teens Junior, of which the reading material is both inspiring and educational. In addition, my parents also buy many books- Story Worlds Level Reading for me.
Thirdly, I kept dubbing movie clips to practice my oral English by using the app- Fun Dubbing. I would play back the original English audio and video clips first and then imitate and record it. It’s a good way to correct my pronunciation by practicing like this.
七（12）班 邵信远：从开始的初选、区选拔、市选拔，一直到省决赛，历时大半年，对我也是一种考验，从中我也学到了很多东西。一定要相信自己的能力。成功是百分之九十九的努力加上百分之一的运气，只要我们做好准备，登上舞台时才会从容接受挑战，掌声也注定为我们响起。
Participating in this activity that lasted more than half a year was a challenge for me, from which I also learned a lot- you must have faith in your abilities. Success is ninety-nine per cent hard work and one per cent luck. As long as we are well-prepared, we will act calmly when we are on the stage, achieving success.
七（12）班 杨昕铠：想学好任何一门语言，都要建立在你喜欢它、想要去了解它的基础上。想学好英语口语，就必须勇于开口说，不要畏惧、不要怕犯错。坚持想说就说，别太在意别人对你的评价，就一定能够说好英语。在演讲比赛的时候，不要怯场，要大大方方地展示自己的才华，无论是否成功，能说出来就是最棒的，就是最大的成功。
It's important to love a certain language and know about it if we want to have a good command of it. I think we shouldn't be shy away from speaking English and making mistakes if we want to improve our oral English. On the contrary, we should speak more and not care much about other's comment. When we take part in the English speech competition, we should be confident to show our talents. After all, being able to speak in English is a kind of great success.
八（6）班陈梓瑞：英语学习是一个很长久的过程，从一年级我就喜欢上了它；早晨上学车上背英语，晚上放学车上听几首英文歌，与外国友人保持经常交流等；我会用唱歌的感觉来提升自己英语演讲的能力和学习的兴趣。
I have been learning English since I was a Grade 1 student and I love it. I have developed the habit to recite English articles and listen to English songs in the car. I will communicate with foreign friends and sing English songs to improve my ability to give speeches and develop my interest in learning.
八（4）班邓荃文：在本次的希望之星比赛中我很幸运地进入了省半决赛并获得了特等奖。而我认为我最大的收获并不是那一张奖状，而是在过程中积累的经验。在比赛中，我明白了不仅仅要做好充足的准备，更要有随机应变的能力。要把所学的知识灵活运用，这样才能让知识变为自己的。
I was lucky to have the provincial semi-finals and receive a special prize. I think having the experience is more important than getting a certificate. I understand that not only should I be well-prepared, but also have the ability to improvise. It is necessary to apply what we have learned to practice, which means we have truly mastered it.
八（10）班颜潞涵：首先是不给自己过多心理压力，演讲不要“背稿子”，要有感染力；第二要学会创新，给评委耳目一新的感觉；第三要多看英文原版电影，我在本次比赛中用了泰坦尼克号Jack和Rose的对话，效果很好。
If you want to participate in a speech competition, you need to pay attention to the following aspects. First, don't be too stressed and don't give speeches as if you were reciting it. Second, you should be innovative to attract the judges. Third, you'd better watch more original English movies. For example, when I delivered speeches during the competition, I referenced to the conversation between Jack and Rose from the movie Titanic and it turned out to be a success.
“不积跬步无以至千里。”任何科目的学习都需要日复一日的坚持，但是这种坚持并非是顶着压力终日埋头于题海，我们可以在课堂上有趣的教学活动中学习英语，我们可以漫步校园，看着圆湖上的天鹅，构思一篇作文；我们可以站在穹顶下，仰望星空，思考着如何脚踏实地实现自己的梦想。
Rome was not built in one day. We students should keep learning but not put too much pressure on ourselves. We can learn English while taking part in the interesting activities; we can walk in the campus and look at the swans on the round lake, composing a composition; we can set our sights high while also be down-to-earth to reach our full potential.
