送走了料峭寒冬，我们迎来了春暖花开的季节。3月8日，南京外国语学校方山分校第三届外语节隆重开幕。本届外语节的主题是“ Appreciating the melody of the language·欣赏语言韵律之美”。全校师生们通过线上相聚的方式共同迎接这一盛会的到来。
The chilly winter has passed and we have embraced the season of warm spring and blooming flowers. On March 8, the 3rd Foreign Language Festival of NFLSFC was grandly opened. The theme of this foreign language festival is "Appreciating the Beauty of the Rhythms of Languages". The teachers and students of the whole school gathered online to welcome the arrival of this grand event.

Good morning dear teachers and students.
It is my pleasure to welcome you all to the Third Nanjing Foreign Language School Fangshan Campus Foreign Language Festival.
As you all know, students are provided with the opportunity to speak a foreign language on a daily basis here at Fangshan Campus. With English and French lessons as well as your Chinese, you are already on the road to becoming trilingual. With more languages around the corner waiting to be explored, you will soon be multilingual.
China is a big country, but the world is even bigger! Language surrounds us everyday. We use language as a tool to communicate with one another. It allows us to think, feel, and express our ideas to others. Many doors are waiting for you. Why not try opening one and explore?
Studying another language helps the brain and yourself to develop into a richer person. You will be more accepting of people; you will understand more in different ways; you will learn about other cultures through language.
Now I would like to provide you with some suggestions in how you can help yourself with learning a language. It isn't easy, I know, but be patient and practice. At school you should keep a notebook on your desk and take notes; you can use different colours or a mind map to help you remember words well. Be brave; take every chance you get to speak; don't worry it's okay to make mistakes because that's how we learn. At home, you can watch foreign language films or listen to foreign language music. You can also read books in other languages as well.
For this year's Foreign Language Festival, there will be more variety for everyone and we will have lots of activities for you to try. Take a chance, give it a go, and have some fun.
I hope that all students can take the opportunity to participate in this year's Foreign Language Festival and enjoy yourselves.

As one of the characteristic campus activities of NFLSFC, the Foreign Language Festival has become an effective carrier of language learning, cultural integration, artistic influence, and subject integration, which has become an extension and supplement of the English classes. The Foreign Language Festival activities also provide a platform for students to express themselves, improve their foreign language skills, and increase their awareness of cooperation and social skills. Let's feel the charm of foreign language in the season of spring, improve our foreign language proficiency, and discover a broader world through the window of foreign language.
