在2021年3月举行的英国物理奥林匹克（British Physics Olympiad）2020-2021年度物理思维挑战赛中，南京外国语学校方山分校国际高中夏添同学从来自全国 430 所国际学校和重点高中的2263名参赛选手中脱颖而出，最终获得了全球银奖的好成绩。
NFLSFC’s Xia Tian, a student from the International High School, achieved a silver (Global Ranking) in the British Physics Olympiad 2020-2021 Intermediate Physics Challenge. Xia Tian stood out from 2,263 competitors from 430 international schools and key high schools across the country.
英国物理思维挑战赛（中级&高级）（Intermediate & Senior Physics Challenge）是由英国物理奥林匹克组委会主办。该项国际赛事题型新颖且竞争激烈，在试题中将基本的物理原理与生活联系在一起，旨在拓展学生的横向思维能力，激发学生的物理潜能，是一项极具挑战性的活动。该项赛事分为两个难度，一个难度对应A-LEVEL的IGCSE年级及其相应年级的同学，另外一个难度对应A-LEVEL的AS年级及其对应年级的同学。
The Intermediate & Senior Physics Challenge is hosted by the British Physics Olympic Committee. The contest questions are novel. It is a very challenging competition to connect the basic physical principles with life in the test questions, aiming to develop students’ lateral thinking ability and stimulate their physical potential. The competition is divided into two levels- one for A-LEVEL IGCSE and its peers, and the other for A-LEVEL AS and its peers.
夏添同学目前就读于南外方山分校国际高中高一年级中英班，他对物理、化学、计算机等学科兴趣浓厚，曾与同学们一起参加2020世界机器人大赛华东地区选拔赛，获得团体亚军。他表示：“这次能获得英国奥林匹克物理挑战赛的银奖，我感到非常高兴。在南外方山分校国际高中，我遇到了平易近人的老师们和优秀的同学们，在轻松愉快的氛围中，我们一起成长进步。特别感谢周健老师的认真指导和热心帮助，鼓励我去尝试和挑战自己。在这里我体会到了成就感，对以后的学习充满信心！”
Xia Tian is from NFLSFC’s International High School Chinese-English class. He has a strong interest in physics, chemistry, computer and other subjects. He has participated in the East China Regional Qualifying Competition of the 2020 World Robotics Competition with his classmates and won the team runner-up. He said, “I am delighted to achieve a silver in the British Physics Olympiad Intermediate Physics Challenge. I have met approachable teachers and excellent classmates and we can improve ourselves together in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere at NFLSFC. Special thanks to Mr. Zhou for his earnest guidance and help. Mr. Zhou encourages me to try and challenge myself. I have a sense of achievement at my school and I am confident in my study!”
夏添同学的指导老师——南外方山分校国际高中物理教师周健博士：“夏添同学自加入南外方山分校国际高中以来，通过IGCSE物理课程的学习，进一步发展自身理科学习的兴趣，并积极探索参加国际国内多项赛事，取得了优异的成绩。与此同时，夏添同学此次取得全球银奖的好成绩与南外方山分校国际高中的STEM+特色课程是密不可分的。此次英国物理思维挑战赛中级阶段的比赛，与南外方山分校国际高中高一年级目前教授的 IGCSE 物理的水平相当，也体现出南外方山分校国际高中学子物理水平与全球同一年龄段学生相比具有较强竞争力。”
Xia Tian’s instructor—Dr. Zhou Jian, a physics teacher from NFLSFC’s International High School said, “Xia Tian has further developed his interest in science by learning IGCSE physics courses, and he has actively participated in international and domestic competitions, achieving a lot. His achieving a silver is related to the STEM+ special course offered at our school. The Intermediate Physics Challenge is equivalent to the level of IGCSE physics currently taught in Grade 10, which shows that NFLSFC’s International High School students are competitive with its peers across the world.

NFLSFC’s International High School allows each and every student to work to their strengths, guides students to develop their own interests and encourages students to meet challenges and outdo themselves. We hope every student can gain a sense of achievement and fulfil their dreams.”
