I’m James from the United States and I’ve been living in China for three years, originally I lived in Yangzhou where I met my beautiful wife. I love living here and teaching the exceptional youth of China. I’m a language learner and enjoy both learning and teaching, and I believe that in order to teach well it is important to be a lifelong learner and student yourself. One of my favorite things about being a teacher is to encourage young students to enjoy the learning process. By immersing in native level content and getting to communicate with an adult who is proficient in the target language, new words and structures in English are more memorable. Giving students the opportunity to acquire natural spoken language and pronunciation is also an integral part of my teaching methodology; if you can say something and pronounce it correctly and at native speed, you’ll have a solid chance of hearing it.
我是James，来自美国。我到中国已经有三年多了，起初我居住的城市是扬州，正是在这座小城，我邂逅了我美丽的妻子。我很享受在中国的生活，觉得能够教授优秀的中国孩子是件意义非凡的事情。我本人也是一名语言学习者，坚信教学相长，也明白要想当好一名老师，自己必须坚持终身学习理念，这一点对于我和学生都颇为重要。我热爱教师职业，总是鼓励年轻学生要学会享受学习的过程。我认为当我们沉浸于母语环境中，且经常与精通英语的人交流，这会有助于我们记忆英语中的新单词和句式结构。在我的教学方法中，一个很重要的原则是帮助学生练就纯正自然的口语和发音。如果学生能以自然的语速、准确的发音表达出自己的观点，他们的听力能力也就不在话下了。
